my first scratchboard piece, done for illustration class.
drawn from reference photo then scratched on black board with white underneath.
the scratchboard is clayboard, it's wood with white clay coated with india ink

You are insanely talented at making these illustration projects look very lifelike. Even if nothing is added in the negative area, this still gives the impression of the rest of the man being there... your depth is amazing :)

Holy....thats incredible! I've used scratchboard before and its not easy to get shading like that. O.o
Props for your amazing skill! Might I inquire as to the material you used for the scratching? Was it a razor of some kind or something different?
